6. Long description Public symposium titled gAnalytical Chemistry for Space Explorationh is held on September 16, 2011. It is a part of the 60th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry, but registration to the meeting is not required to participate. The venue is Higashiyama Campus of Nagoya University,Chikusa-ku,Nagoya. Scope is introduction of roles of analytical chemistry in space missions to search for the origin of the solar system and life. The symposium consists of the following four talks; (1) Scientific results of Hayabusa (Japanese Asteroid Sample Return Mission) and future plan of Hayabusa 2; (2) In search of the origin of the solar system and life on the Earth by analyzing organic compounds in meteorites; (3) Introduction of future Japanese Mars Mission to search for life; (4) Search for habitable planets out of the Solar system. General public, including high school students, undergraduate and graduate students and senior citizens are welcome.
