| 6. Long description | The 2011 Science and Mathematics Olympiad in Fukui will be held from September 11 to September 25 at Takefu High School. Participation is available to about 200 high school students. Aim: Applying what has been learned in the classroom as a base; students will arouse their interest in science, mathematics and technology and cultivate their judgment skills, scientific thinking, expressive ability and scientific and mathematical ability as they tackle problems related to real life situations. Content: High school students are candidates. 3 member teams will be selected for the Challenge Stage and Grand Prix. In the Challenge Stage, lectures and problems related to the lectures will be presented. Problems will be answered by teams. Subject matter for the Grand Prix will include everyday, real-life situations. Teams will conduct observations and experiments. |
